City of Cold Lake VS Cold Lake Minor Hockey (Cold Lake WInter Classic)

On Feb 28th the City played Cold Lake Minor Hockey Coaches and Executives.   The game was used as a fund raiser for the local families who were in major car accidents traveling to games this winter.  The game was also used to show case the Nelson Heights Outdoor rink which has been managed more effectively by the Recreation Department.

The weather was cool but the hearts of players were warm, and so was the hot chocolate.  Thanks to all the organizers who helped put this Winter Classic together.  It reminds me of my old days growing up in Minor Hockey, when we had to shovel the snow before we played.

Business of the Year a huge success

On February the 26th Miyuki and myself attended the Business of the Year Award at the Energy Centre.  It was well attended and well organized.  Chris Gill and Willow Marr were the MC's.  The Chamber of Commerce did a great job and looked after every detail.

Well done 4-Wing on the Festival of Arts (Family Day)

My family attended the Family Day at 4-Wing.  The event was hosted by 4-Wing and it was very nice to see all the families there.  There was a lot of things for the families to do.  My daughter had lots of fun and we enjoyed the time with the many families and friends that attended.  You do a terrific job 4-Wing, and thanks to all the volunteers.

Festival of Words well attended

The Festival of Words were well attended with my kids having fun.  Cold Lake First Nations had a booth, and the ladies working the booth told old stories about their culture.  There were many activities and performers.  Great jog to all who made this happen.

City of Cold Lake joins 4-Wing in Fight

4-Wing has officially written a letter with the City of Cold Lake asking the Alberta Government to allow Cold Lake to aquire the Primrose Lake Bombing Range.  This area has been under the County of Lac La Biche.  This will bring around $10,000,000. to the City from Tax assessement.  This will help the City with many of its projects and aid 4-Wing as it gets ready for the new jets.
